Pesto

this is a great sauce put on pasta for fresh pesto pasta!

makes about 1/2 cup.

Ingredients:
1/4-1/3 cup olive oil
1 cup chopped fresh basil
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Freshly cracked pepper
1/4 cup pine nuts (optional)

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor, and process until well blended. Put the olive oil in first to help blend. If the pesto is too thick add a little water.

this blog is awesome! my younger sister recently went on a very strict diet to help releive some of the symptoms she has been having caused by a neurological disorder. my parents didnt want her to take medication which would only sedate her. finding recipies has been extremely difficult up to this point. your recipies have been an immense help. we still have to tweak them here and there but overall they have been a godsend. thank you

I'm so glad you found this helpful! what ingredients are you trying to avoid? (I'll try to be more conscious when I use them and of substitutes that might work just as well).
